Day 1: Cusco – Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco
Departure from your hotel in Cusco toward kilometer 104. Our first stop is the archaeological site of Chachabamba (2250 meters above sea level), historically significant for its agricultural production, which was transported to Machu Picchu. We continue toward Wiñaywayna, enjoying stunning views of the Urubamba River along the way and the opportunity to observe various species of orchids. We’ll visit the Wiñaywayna archaeological site, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our hike toward Machu Picchu, catching a distant view of the citadel from the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) during a splendid sunset.
