Day 1
We will pick you up at your hotel and then head to the village of San Pedro, located 10 km south of Huaraz (approximately 20 minutes by transport). From the San Pedro bridge, we will begin an ascending hike. Along the way, you will observe typical houses and residents going about their daily activities. After about 2.5 hours of hiking, we will reach the Willcacocha Lagoon, situated at 3,700 meters of altitude. From this point, you will enjoy an impressive view of the Cordillera Blanca, and it is possible to spot wild ducks and reeds. After spending a few hours at the lagoon and performing Andean activities to thank the local Apus, we will return via the same route (approximately 1.5 hours of hiking), and take transport back to Huaraz. But a little before descending from the lagoon, we will have a brief time to interact with some local residents or possibly visit a rural school, where you can leave clothes, food, school supplies, or medicines as support for the community.
