Day 1

Pickup from your centrally located hotel in the city of Huaraz to head north of Huaraz to the village of Marcará, where we will take a detour eastward to enter the domains of the Vicos community and then enter the Huascarán National Park. We will arrive at Paqcharuri, a charming place known for its icy waterfalls, and we will also visit some rock paintings at Llamaruri. We will then ascend by vehicle to Rocotuyoc Lagoon. From the lagoon, we obtain splendid views of the background mountains and after a brief stop, we can take a relaxing, almost horizontal walk until we reach the Frozen Lagoon, which is characterized by being next to the glacier and having chunks of ice floating on its waters. After a prudent time, we will return to Rocotuyoc and take our vehicle back to Huaraz.
