Discover the Majestic Cordillera Blanca!
Huaraz – Carhuaz – Hualcán Village – Laguna 513 hike – Return.
Departure from Huaraz. We start our adventure with a comfortable transfer to Carhuaz, from where we take the road eastward towards the impressive Cordillera Blanca. Along the way, we'll pass through the charming village of Hualcán, where we'll enjoy views of various agricultural fields and domestic animals of the local communities, as well as splendid panoramas of Mount Huascarán. Arrival at Shonquilpampa: Here, we'll prepare with everything we need for our exciting trail. We'll begin with a horizontal hike that gradually becomes a zigzag ascent, following the Chucchún river, until we reach the impressive Rajupaquinán lagoon. Ascent to Laguna 513: After a short rest on the shores of Rajupaquinán, we'll continue ascending until we reach the spectacular Laguna 513, located right at the foot of Mount Hualcán, at 6,350 meters. From here, you can delight in the expansive views of the surrounding mountains and the magnificent turquoise color of the lagoon. Additional Exploration: After a well-deserved rest, enjoying lunch and taking photos, you can explore a third and even a fourth lagoon called Cochca, also located at the foot of Mount Hualcán. Return to Huaraz: Finally, we'll return by the same trail to Shonquilpampa, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz. We will plant a small tree along the way as a gesture of gratitude to nature for its space.
